Parmigiano Reggiano Wedge

Parmigiano Reggiano is by far the best-known and most important of Italian hard cheeses. Parmigiano Reggiano can be made only in a strictly defined zone, which lies between Parma, Modena and Reggio-Emilia, Italy. The farmers of this area claim that the cheese has been made there for over 2000 years. The milk comes only from local cows, which graze on the area’s rich pastureland.

USAGE TIP:  grated on top of any kind of pasta with tomatoes sauce, meat or pestos.

Drizzle some aged balsamic vinegar.

Pair with fig or red onion cream/pate’ or Miele di Accacia.

Shave on top or the salad, or any kind of Italian soup (Minestrone, Pasta e Fagioli)

ORIGIN: Maranello – Modena, Italy

The cheese is aged for a period of 24 months. During this time, it is nurtured like fine wine, until it becomes pale golden with a slightly granular flaky texture and a nutty mildly, savory flavor. Our authentic EMMA Parmigiano Reggiano is easily recognizable by the imprint Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium’s oval firebrand on the rind. EMMA Parmigiano Reggiano works well as both a table cheese for snacking or for dessert and as the world’s premier grating cheese transforming simple pasta dishes with its delectable flavor and aroma.
